Computer problems 01 -update-

Thu Jul 9, 2009, 4:35 PM
Hey peoples,

Just letting everyone know that I might not be active for a few days, either here or on my artwork or fanfic.
1) Dell laptop screen is having problems, either it's a video driver or a hardware issue
2) My new Macbook Pro is hitting bluescreen errors almost twice daily now because of driver interferences

The Dell is once again my primary computer, since it still works rather reliably, albeit slowly. I have it hooked up to the old desktop's monitor, thank God this thing didn't get moved out of my room @@
He works in strange ways; my parents have been wanting to get the desktop out of my room and into my brother's room, but it seems it was still needed in here...well, at least the monitor was xD
I just hope I don't have to wire the desktop and laptop together in the near future to do an external disk format @@

I've taken this issue up with Geek Squad; they gave me a few options I can do on my own before coming to them and paying them to fix the computers. For the Dell, I can reset it into Safe Mode with VGA setting, to test if the screen problem is an issue with a driver. For the Macbook though...most likely bet is to uninstall XP, redo Bootcamp, then re-install XP...if that's the case, I'm gonna spend the $70 for them to take it in and do it themselves, because last time I did that on this machine, Microsoft gave me hell with the registration >> Imma let the pros who know what they're doing do the installations and shit.

EDIT: It's definitely a hardware issue with the screen, VGA mode didn't do anything to solve it. Updated the video drivers and all that shit...still not working. Dad wants me to rebuild this computer, IE wipe it and re-install a new copy of Windows. That's probably not gonna solve it but I need something new anyway. I might be able to salvage my Macbook by uninstalling Windows from it, redoing Bootcamp, and then reinstalling it on my own, but...graaaaaaaah that was a pain in the ass the first three times X_X

What does this all ultimately mean? The Dell has to stay home until the screen is fixed/resolved, and the Mac is too unstable now to use properly, so I have no laptop to bring to work. And no laptop at work means I can't get my schoolwork done or any kind of writing done until I get home, which is late.

Thank you Microsoft for fucking up yet again >>
Or Adobe, either one of you. One of you is fucking up my new Macbook. I didn't pay money to have your shit go glitchy when I need it.

I guess you could say that it's like if character A walks to character B's house. In version one, he takes one route, in version two, he takes another and the things that transpire while he is walking are different. But, in the end, he still ends up at character B's house and a large portion of the previous events are simply rearranged events from verion one.

...or something like that. Nevertheless, the story is made of awsome.... and a 'couple other things...
