Caelos silently sighed as he stared forlornly at the mountain range ahead of himself. When he'd heard that the group had split apart, a heavy darkness had hit him. It was his fault...he should've been there to help them. In the dead of night he'd snuck out of the Temple; the guardians wanted him to stay, but he couldn't sit idly while the others were faltering in their paths. The girls had scattered, but he had a fairly good idea as to Plazyma's whereabouts. He'd start by trying to locate her...and clear up

Not knowing what else to do, Neves headed into the library to read...he needed a distraction, badly. First the girls had fought over Spyro, then Shimmer left him and was nowhere to be found...and now to top it all off, they were gone. Ember, Cynder, Plazyma...he'd spent all morning searching the ruined Settlement for them, but to no avail. They'd simply vanished through their bedroom windows. Flame too was nowhere to be seen...he was probably off looking for Ember. The ice dragon flopped

"With Spyro chasing that shadow creature, whatever it is, our priority is to locate any information about Elamrof. Anything at all." Neves paced back and forth, shaking his head. "It's been a day now and we haven't found anything other than its relatively uniform composition. I think we're heading about this the wrong way."

"Then what are we supposed to be looking for, smartass?" Plazyma quipped, laying on her back atop a high shelf, head lolling back to stare at them upside-down with her horns propping her up against the wood.

"Nnn...wha...Cynder?" Spyro grumbled, Cynder's face mere inches from his.

"You okay? You kept muttering random stuff and wouldn't shut up," she whispered, glancing around at the others sleeping in the room.

The purple dragon stretched and shivered with a long yawn. "Yeah...I'm fine...just...really weird dreams again." He stared at her, his eyes glazing over as they lost focus. "Why are you up, your bed's across the room..."

"Couldn't sleep, got tired of your random rambling. Wanna go outside and look at the stars? Calm down from your dreams?"

CHAPTER 29

The rising sun, stricken with the pallor of the pervading evil will of dominance, was glad to rise and cast its rays on the Dragon Temple Island, hoping to see familiar faces. And faces it found, the first beams falling over Neves and Shimmer as they sat by the shore to watch the sunrise. The two spread their wings to collect what warmth they could. Neves smirked, unfolding his blade-thumb and using it to gently scritch Shimmer's wingthumb. She giggled and swatting his wing with hers.

"Stoppit." He grinned toothily but relented, closing his eyes.
